Improvvisi elettrici (2003)
for Guitar, Midi and Computer
Length: 06:59
Improvvisi elettrici is an electronic improvisation by two performers who control in extemporaneous mode two real time sound processing algorithms (FM and granular synthesis) designed for Max-Msp. The two algorithms process portions of pre-recorded sound through a sophisticated system of control which enables a considerable number of parameters to be modified with simple gestures, thus creating complex changes in the audio output. A sensor applied to the electric guitar transforms into MIDI values the data representing the vibration of the plucked strings. The performer at the computer moves, with the mouse, a pointer inside a two-dimensional system of Cartesian axes at a speed and to a position that are detected by the programme.
The live recording of one of the two improvisations has been used for the realisation of the digital support version.
