01-05 November 2000The music flows continously without a break, in this performance by Walter Prati and Maurizio Ben Omar: a Prae-ludium suggests the special mood, introducing the sonority of the concert; the subsequent pieces are all linked together by 4 Intermezzi for tape, during which the musicians are able to prepare the electronic equipment and change the percussion instrument, and conclude with a Post-ludium. The composers in programme summarize a compositional progression advocated by the duo over the last ten years: from the initial idea of a percussion-electronics collaboration - immediately taken up and developed by Sylvano Bussotti - to the world première of Gabriele Manca. The "open" form of these compositions leaves space to the free interpretation and improvisation of the performers.
