He obtained a diploma of viola at the Conservatorio Rossini in Pesaro and attended the advanced training courses with Aldo Bennici; he studied in Darmstadt with Stefan Gheorghiu and Irvine Arditti who awarded him the International Darmstadt Prize in 1992. In the same year he also won the "Iannis Xenakis International Prize of Interpretation" in Paris. Since 1992 he has been playing as a soloist in the most important concert halls of the world. He performs in theatres all over the world: Teatro alla Scala in Milan; Berlin Philharmonic; Salzburg Mozarteum; Opéra de Nice; Venezia Biennale; Gulbenkian Foundation; Hamburg (Staatsoper); Cochrane Theatre London; Darmstadt; Köln (Wdr); Witten, Frankfurt; Hannover; Heilbronn; Rottenburg (Südwestfunk); Wurzburg; Bonn; Bremen (Radio Bremen); Dresden; Leipzig; München (Konzerthaus) (Bayerisher Rundfunk); Freiburg; Baden Baden; Belfast (Bbc); Paris (Radio France); Strasbourg (European Parliament); Lyon (Grame); Orléans (Semaines Musicales Internationales); Lille; Siena (Accademia Chigiana); Milan (Triennale of Contemporary Art); Rome (Teatro Nazionale); Venice (Sonopolis Teatro La Fenice); Turin; Madrid (Centro Bellas Artes); Conservatory of Milan; Oporto; Mexico (Festival Internacional Cervantino); Rottherdam (Igic); Tel Aviv; Jerusalem; Bucharest (Ateneum); Innsbruck (Konservatorium); Finland (Time of Music); Vienna; Sapporo; Tokyo. He also played with prestigious ensembles like Ensemble Köln, Ensemble Recherche Freiburg; Icarus Ensemble; Roma Sinfonietta and with important orchestras like Orchestre de l'Opéra de Nice, Rte Dublin Concert Orchestra; Orchestra Internazionale d'Italia; Euroasian Philharmonic Orchestra of Seul. He has a vast repertoire going from Bach to contemporary composers and is interested in the "new" music production. Composers from all over the world dedicated to him many works. He is now recording a CD including works by Hindemith, Bruch and Schumann. He has given master classes in important institutions: Irino Foundation Prize of Tokyo; Vitasaari Summer Academy (Finland); Centro Nacional de Bellas Artes of Mexico City; Lucero Master Class in Paris. He performed and recorded the world premiere of Morricone's Viola Concerto. He played as a soloist with: Orchestre de l'Opera de Nice; Dublin Radio Orchestra; Ensemble Köln; Ensemble Recherche Freiburg, Roma Sinfonietta, Seul Euroasian Orchestra; Orchestra Internazionale d'Italia; Orchestra di Roma e del Lazio. He recorded for the German, French, English, Irish, Italian, Mexican, Rumanian, Austrian and Israeli radio and television broadcasting. He gives lectures at the Accademia Internazionale della Musica di Milano and teaches viola at "Achille Peri" Istituzione di Alta Cultura in Reggio Emilia.
