Milano, 1957

He attended the Milan Conservatory where he studied composition with Franco Donatoni and Salvatore Sciarrino, piano with Eli Perrotta and Antonio Ballista, harpsichord with Marina Mauriello.
His works have been performed in many important concert series and festival of contemporary music including: Radio France,  Beaubourg in Paris, Festival of Strasburg, Lyon, Avignon, Warsaw, WDR of Colonia, Auditorium Nacional de Madrid, Wien Modern, chamber season of London, Manchester, Rotterdam, symphonic season of RAI Naples, Rome, Milan, Unione Musicale of Turin, Biennale of Venice, Bologna Festival, Musica nel Nostro Tempo and Milano Musica, symphonic season of Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Piccola Scala in Milan, Orchestra Regionale Toscana, ecc…
As a pianist and a harpsichord player he held several concerts in Italy and abroad, especially performing, besides his music, the XX-century repertory.
He recorded the integral version of Claude Debussy's Études (CGD CLS 81002) and music by Chopin, Liszt, Scriabin, Gershwin.

Among his most important compositions we mention the operas Il sogno di Titania, Peter Schlemihl, America and K., the four Concertos for piano and orchestra, Quindici divertimenti for oboe and orchestra, Tredici fantasie for violin and orchestra, Concerto in due movimenti for flute and orchestra, Cinque ballate for oboe and orchestra, Cinque racconti orientali for oboe, violin and strings, Sinfonia concertante for violin, viola and strings, Nove piccoli pezzi for thirteen instruments, Trenta novellette for soprano, piano and orchestra, two Quintetti, nine Trios, a lot of chamber music and for solo piano.
He lives and teaches in Venice.
His works are published by Edizioni Suvini Zerboni.
