Fabio Barbagallo studied guitar with Fabio Maida and he graduated from Liceo Musicale 'Vincenzo Bellini' - Caltanissetta (Sicily). He continued his studies specializing in guitar with the following Maestri: Alirio Diaz, Alvaro Company, Vladimir Mikulka, Angelo Gilardino, Nuccio D’Angelo. He has been awarded with various music prices at many Italian competitions in the cities of Lodi, Genova, Alassio, Matera, Lamezia Terme. He has given concerts as a soloist and as member of various chamber ensembles in Italy, Europe, North and South America, Asia. He studied Music Score Reading, Counterpoint and Composition at the Conservatorio di Musica of Palermo. In 2005 he was awarded with the Diploma in 'Electronic Music', under the guidance of Alessandro Cipriani and Emanuele Casale at the Instituto Superiore di Studi Musicali 'Vincenzo Bellini' in Catania where he was also awarded with the 'Diploma Accademico di II Livello' in Musical Disciplines and New Technology with the maximum grade of 110/110. He has written for important Italian music magazines, such as ‘Seicorde’ and ‘Musica e Scuola’ and he is often a jury member in national and international competitions [i.e. Siracusa, Augusta, Catania, Caccamo, Rimini, Mottola, Voronezh (Russia)]. As a composer he has attended various seminars with Nuccio D'Angelo, Giorgio Gaslini, Alvin Curran, Domenico Sciajno, Paola Prestini, Milicia Paranosic, Michael Gordon, Wolfgang Motz and many others.

He has composed: music for solo instruments, for instrumental ensembles as well as electronic music compositions. Some of his works have been selected and played in important international festivals, such as: Taukay Web Radio, CRM (Musical Research Center of Rome) during the 'Biennale Internazionale di Arte Scienza e Cultura Contemporanea', ICMC 2008 (International Computer Music Conference) in Belfast (Northen Ireland), Art of Sound (AOS) International Festival of Electroacoustic and Polymedia Art, Guarnerius Art Center in Belgrade (Serbia), Festival of the 5 days for the contemporary music in Milan, Associazione Concerti citta' di Noto (Sicily), SICMF 2009 (Seoul International Computer Music Festival 2009) in South Korea, XIII International Festival 'Primavera in l'Havana' in Cuba, International Festival 'Zeppelin' Barcelona (Spain) and "Vento di Cultura 2010-2011", Teatro Garibaldi in Enna (Sicily). In the summer of 2010, he edited the computer sound effects and wrote the music for the theatrical show "Ex-Utopia", based on the memorial of the Italian artist Paolo Volponi. The show was performed during the VII Festival Not'ARTE in Noto (Sicily). In July 2011, invited by the Italian Institute of Culture - Belgrade (Serbia), he participated to the VI International Classical Music Festival of Vrnjci (Serbia), performing for the first time the piece of work ‘Ai Margini’ for guitar and digital sounds. His music is published by “SINFONICA” Editions of Milan.

Currently he is a teacher of classical guitar in Italian Scuola Media
