He obtained a diploma in piano and composition at the Conservatoire G. Verdi in Milan where he studied respectively with Piero Rattalino and Azio Corghi. He attended the advance training courses for orchestra conductors held by Karl Österreicher (Verein Wiener Musikseminar, Vienna 1983), Franco Ferrara (Ente Arena di Verona, 1983) and Mario Gusella (Accademia Musicale Pescarese, 1984).

From 1979 to 1981 he has been conductor collaborator at the "Teatro alla Scala"; he is teacher at the Conservatoire "A. Boito" in Parma since 1984. Some of his scores have been selected and won prizes in composition contexts, performed in many European concert seasons and broadcast. Some of the performers are: Pierre-Yves Artaud, CARME, Dedalo Ensemble, Ensemble Contrechamps, Jean Louis Petit. He conducted during the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro in 1992 the world première of Un petit train de plaisir, a ballet for two pianos and six percussionists by Azio Corghi on music by Gioacchino Rossini and choreography by Amedeo Amodio. He recorded this work for RICORDI with Bruno Canino, Antonio Ballista and Les Percussions de Strasbourg.
