Tommaso Perego - Biography
Milano, 1975
Tommaso Perego is at present studying Conducting at the "G. Verdi" Conservatorio of Milan, where he obtained his diploma in Double bass in 2000 and in Composition and Electronic Music in 2005. He is also studying Piano privately with the Argentinian pianist Lia Demasi.
He has attended electronic music workshops held by Miller Pukette, David Zicarelli and the Cycling74 staff at the Basel Hochschule; by Sebastian Lexer at Goldsmith University, London; by Michel Waisvisz at Steim Foundation, Amsterdam; by Michele Tadini at the Accademia Internazionale della Musica, Milan. He has also attended Composition Masterclasses at the Accademia Internazionale della Musica, Milan with Luca Francesconi and at the Stuttgart Hochschule with Matthias Hermann and Mario Garuti.
In 2004 he founded an experimental electronic music group which uses, and constructs, wireless interfaces, gamepads and sensors for researching the transfer of gestural techniques to sound for the realization of specific compositional ideas [http://ultimatetoma.mamito.com]. His works have been performed at the Electronic Music Festival, Gare du Nord, Basel (2005); at Bip Art Biennale d'Arte Contemporanea, Castel Sant'Angelo, Rome (2004); Spazio Xpò Milan (2004) and Salone del Mobile, Milan, Spazio Design (2004).
