Fausto Sebastiani (Rome, 1962) took a degree in Experimental Composition and in Computer Music at the S. Cecilia Conservatory of Music in Rome.
He attended the lectures of the composers Elliot Carter, Iannis Xenakis and Brian Ferneyhough at the Ferienkurse in Darmstadt. 
He studied composition with Salvatore Sciarrino at the Musical Academy in Citta` di Castello. He attended advance training courses on Computer Music at the C. S. C. of Padua University and at the Académie d`été of IRCAM in Paris.
He has realized instrumental and electroacustic compositions, musical theatre works, artistic installations performed in the context of international seasons and festivals like

He was awarded a fellowship by the Argentinian Government to study at the Computer Music Centre LIPM in B. Aires and to compose the work " Codice C" for guitar, electric guitar, tape.
He won the following composition contests: "Young Performers - Young Composer" B. Brecht Centre (Milan), Gaudeamus Foundation, "40 years old in 2000" CEMAT. 
He has often collaborated with visual artists: with Lucia Romualdi the realized musical-video installations for tape and slides, with the artists of the Art Gallery Il Punto di Svolta he realized the installation Reflexioni - interaction between form and sound. 
At present he teaches Elements of Composition for the Didactic School at the Conservatory of Music in Benevento; he has held courses at the Scuola di Specializzazione all'Insegnamento Secondario of the University Federico II and of the University Suor Orsola Benincasa of Naples. His research papers and musical didactic essays have been published in magazines like Cambridge University Press, Papers of the 13th Colloquium on Musical Informatics, Seminar papers La Terra Fertile (L'Aquila), 31 Convegno Europeo di Studi sull'Educazione Musicale (Associazione Corale Goriziana), 1° Convegno Orff Schulwerk italiano, strategie d'oggi per l'educazione musicale (S. Cecilia Conservatory of Rome).
Some of his works have been published by Edipan, Berben and RaiTrade.
He is Board member of the Association Musica Verticale and member of the Association Nuova Consonanza.
