Emanuele Pappalardo - Biography
Catania, 1954

He lives and works in Rome. He studied composition, choral music, electronic music and classic guitar at the Conservatory "A.Casella" in L'Aquila. His works, ordered by outstanding ensembles and soloists, are performed and broadcast in Italy and in many other countries (Sweden, Holland, France, Bulgaria, Albania, USA, Brazil, Switzerland, Malta, China-Beijing and Hong Kong, Canada).

The relation between real sounds and elaborated sounds on computer is very important in many of his compositions. He is member of the Board of Directors of the Italian Music Association for electronic music "Musica Verticale". His works have been published by Edipan, Berben, ICMC ' 95 CD (Banff, Canada).
In addition to his composer activity, he is particularly interested in late Reinaissance vocal music. He wrote an analytical text about the relations between Poetry and Music in the late Madrigale (Rome, 1992).

He has been collaborating to musical programmes for RAI-Italian Radio & Television since 1986.
He was art director and organizer of the first musical exchange in the field of the contemporary music between Italy and China (Beijing, 1996). He is Professor for Musical Didactics in the Conservatory "L. Refice" in Frosinone (Italy).
