Giuseppe Bruno got a diploma with full marks of piano, composition and orchestra conduction with the guidance of the maestros Specchi, Zangelmi e Taverna; he attended later a specialisation course with Paolo Bordoni for piano and Leopold Hager for archestra conduction; he also attended a seminary of Composition at the IRCAM in Paris. He carries out a brilliant concert activity, as soloist but also with varios chamber ensembles; he played with important orchestras in Italy, Greece, Romania, and Germany; his wide repertory goes from Mozart to Dallapiccola. Since 1987 until 1992 he took part in the "Festival dei due mondi" in Spoleto and in 1988 at the festival in Charleston (USA). He got a prize at the International Piano Competition "Roma 1991", and at the "Viotti" Contest in Vercelli in 1992, with the violin player Alberto Bologni. He recorded for Nuova Fonit Cetra, Diapason, SAM, Bongiovanni, Ars publica, Ars Musici, but also for RAI, Swiss, French and Italian radio and the WDR in Cologne. He collaborated with artists such as the conductors Alkis Baltas, Spiros Argiris, Franz Lamprecht, Corneliu Dumbraveanu, the violin player Sashko Gawriloff, with the singers Gail Gilmore and Victor von Halem, and with the Berlin Philarmonic Octet. He is a member of the "Sandro Materassi" Quintet. Since some years he is regarded as an appreciated orchestra conductor in Italy and abroad. He teaches at the Conservatory in La Spezia.
