Giorgia Milanesi - Biography

Born in 1973, graduated in voice from the Conservatorium of Santa Cecilia in her native Rome under Rebecca Berg in 1997 and has continued with the Prof. Domenico Tolone. 
She started in 1995 with an intense concertistic work, collaborating also with the Accademy of France in Rome and with the Austrian Institute of culture, interpreting a notable repertoire into the area of the Melodie Francaise and the German Lied. As well as the music for voice and guitar from the Spanish and Italian old and contemporary repertoire.
In 1999 interpreted Violetta in La Traviata at the Teatro Flaiano in Rome. In 2000 she was la Contessa d¹Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro at the Teatro Verdi of Salerno, under the baton of Nicola Luisotti. In 2001/2002 she sang at the Teatro lirico of Cagliari in Euryanthe under the baton of Gerard Korsten, in La Vida Breve (Carmela) under the baton of Rafael Fruhbeck de Burgos. In 2001 she performed the role of Elisabetta of Valois in Don Carlos under the baton of Roberto Tolomelli, for the 36 International Festival of Brno. In 2003, with large consent of audience and chritics, she performed the role of Ismene in Antigona by Tommaso Traetta, together with her sister (Antigona), in Antwerpen, Brugge, Salamanca and Brussels, under the baton of Paul Dombrecht. Always in 2003, she was Tamiri in Mozart¹s Il Re Pastore , at the Teatro delle Muse of Ancona, under the baton of Corrado Rovaris and the direction of Daniele Abbado. Enthusiastic were the reviews about her recent interpretation of the Prinzessin Natalie von Oranjen in Der Prinz von Homburg by H.W.Henze at the Reiseopera of Enschede, under the baton of Rolf Gupta. In 2004 she has sung again Ismene in ³Antigona² at the Muziektheater of Amsterdam. She has recorded for the RTSI of Lugano, under the baton of Diego Fasolis, the scenic version of the Catulli Carmina of Carl Orff. 
She has recently performed Alessandro in Eliogabalo of F.Cavalli, under the baton of René Jacobs, at La Monnaie in Brussels and at the Innsbrucker Festwochen. 
Recent is her interpretation with the Norvegian Radio Orchestra of Oslo, of some lieder from Des knaben Wunderhorn by Mahler and the Bruckner¹s Te Deum, live radio broadcasted, under the baton of Rolf Gupta. In 2003 she sang, under the baton of Paul Dombrecht, at the Palau de la Mùsica in Valencia, arias from oratorios and operas by Mozart. She sang also together with the Banda dell¹Arma dei Carabinieri at the Teatro dell¹Opera of Rome and at the Auditorium of Santa Cecilia,for the arms anniversary , TV broadcasted in worldvision. 
Enthusiasticly acclaimed by chritics and audience, her recent concert in Innsbruck for the Ambraser Schlosskonzerte with arias and cantatas of XVII sec. 
Her future music will be in January 2005 at Radiohause NRK, Alban Berg Sieben Fruhe Lieder and Luigi Dallapiccola Cinque frammenti di Saffo, with the Norvegian Radio Orchestra. 
Giorgia studied also classical and contemporary ballet and is graduated in design of theatral costume.
