In 1986 he obtained his diploma in piano at the Conservatory "L. Cherubini" in Florence. In 1985/86 he won a scolarship at the "Internationale Meisterkurze fur Musik" (Zürich-Swizerland) where he studied with Rudolf Buchbinder.
In 1990 he won second place in the Lamezia Terme piano competition
In 1993 he obtained his diploma in composition at the Conservatory "Morlacchi" in Perugia
He studies with Luciano Berio, György Ligeti and Salvatore Sciarrino.

Anichini's works are performed in Italy and abroad and have gained enthusiastic response from both the public and the critics. His compositions includes works for: instrumental soloist, chamber music, symphonic orchestra, vocal soloist, choir and orchestra, only choir. Among different national and international prizes, in 1995 he won the first prize in the international competition "Guido d'Arezzo" for polifonic compositions. In 1996 he is the foundator and artistic director of the "Centro Musicale Fiorentino". He is professor of composition at the National Conservatories of Music and actually he is professor of History of Music and Composition at the Siena's Conservatory .
